Lawyers still often misinterpret DNA expert reports. In situations where a suspect matches a DNA profile from a trace, the so-called calculated frequency is reported, which reflects the rarity of the DNA profile.

This is very different from the likelihood that the DNA trace comes from the suspect. However, the DNA expert will not make any statement about this. The reason why he do not will be explained in this E-learning.
